Paris Hilton/ Carter Reum Wedding
Paris Hilton Does Wedding Fashion Right in This Celebrity Bash
The Wedding
November 11th is always a special day, as it’s the day we Americans always set aside to thank the brave men and women that have served our nation, but this Veterans Day us fashionistas had something else to be extra grateful for. Paris Hilton- long time American media personality, socialite, businesswoman, model, singer, and actress- tied the knot with millionaire venture capitalist boyfriend Carter Reum and it was one event for the fashion books.
The Engagement
The beautiful couple was courting for around a year when Carter popped the question while vacationing on a private island to celebrate Paris’ 40th birthday. Paris shared on her instagram, “As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. I said yes. Yes to forever.
There’s no one I’d rather spend forever with.”

The Ring
Carter tapped Jean Dousset, famed jeweler and the great-great-grandson of Louis-Francois Cartier, to design a custom engagement ring for Paris. He’s holding up a remarkable beaut with a 10-20 carot emerald cut stone next to two shield-cut diamonds and an array of additional small pave cut diamonds throughout it for added bling. The ring, oh-so-fittingly named “Paris,” is pictured below, and I’ve added a video on the design that Paris posted below that.

The Ceremony
The wedding and reception were held at Hilton’s late-grandfather Barron’s estate in Bel-Air. This estate is no longer in the Hilton family-as it was sold off to former CEO of Google Eric Schmidt for $61.5 million in May, so was apparently rented out by the couple for the big day. Paris shares, “As a little girl, I always told myself that I would get married at my grandfather’s former estate. I imagined having my fairy tale wedding here, and it’s amazing that it’s actually come true.”

The DressES!
Now, onto my favorite part… her dresses! In my searching, Paris wore 5 beautiful dresses worth talking about this epic wedding weekend, so let’s talk about them!
The Main Dress
The main dress, designed by Oscar de la Renta and worn for the wedding ceremony was an elegant lace ball gown with long sleeves, a high neckline, and decadent train. It was paired with a long-trained vail of matching lace pattern which looked absolutely angelic on her.

I’ve seen this dress compared to a few styles with inspiration being drawn by Grace Kelly’s Wedding gown, which was also used as inspiration for Kate Middleton’s gown, designed by Alexander McQueen.

The dress also bears a striking resemblance to another wedding dress, however. This one was designed by Valentino for, none other than, Nicky Hilton- successful businesswoman and Paris’s younger sister. Could you imagine? Here’s a better look of the two next to each other for comparison.

They both look incredible and major props to Nicky for having the class to allow her elder sister copy her dress. I guess mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery, right? This is a warning, however, to both of my sister’s, that if either of you do that to me, I will not be cool about it. Moving on.
Dress #2
Paris starts off the reception dresses with another jaw-dropping ball gown. This ones is an off the shoulder gown with a sweetheart neckline and a corset bodice.

It was designed by Galia Lahav, who is a designer that focuses primarily on bridal and evening wear based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Dress #3
For her second reception gown, Paris wore a deep V a-line number dripping in crystals consolidating to create a natural waist. This dress, I thought, complemented the giant rock on her finger very well and shines, almost as much as she does- totally beaming the entire occasion.

This number is by American fashion designer, Pamela Rolland, and is paired with a similarly sparkling princess crown and cape to finish the ensemble.
Dress #4
Toward the end of the reception, Paris made another outfit change. This time she showed us a shorter number, with a floral lace cap sleeve and embroidered sweetheart neckline, and a bubble bottom. This dress was again by Oscar de la Renta- American designer, whose work Paris seems to quite enjoy.

I particularly loved this look on Paris. The lace patten I found to be very similar to that of the main dress which was a nice touch, and was done in a much more laid back fashion which followed the trend that we’ve seen thus far of the dresses getting slightly more casual throughout the night. I also really liked that this dress was short because we finally got a glimpse of her shoes! I can only assume she’s worn these the whole evening and can’t find the designer to give credit to, but these off-white, sheer, lace pumps do indeed deserve some credit so lets hear it for the shoes!
Dress #5
Paris had her wedding afterparty Friday at the Santa Monica pier with a neon themed couples carnival party. Diplo DJ’d, and Paris, Carter, and their A-list friends and guests snacked on carnival themed treats like lemonade, funnel cakes, and hot dogs, while enjoying Hilton-themed games, a Ferris wheel and more classic attractions. Now, I don’t know Paris personally (unfortunately), and I used to play Nicole Richie when me and my friend used to impersonate Paris and Nicole as pre-teens, so I don’t know that I’m qualified to make this assertion, BUT I would say this neon theme fitting pink Barbie-esque wedding dress feels about as Paris Hilton as it gets.

This hot pink dress is by Alice and Olivia and features a sequined mesh top with a corset bodice and an asymmetrical high low tulle skirt. Paris accessorized for the occasion with a hot pink leather boots and purse, sparkly heart-shaped shades, and, of course, a matching pink veil by Mason Ava. The new hubby, Carter Reum wore a pink sweatshirt and shirt to match with a navy sports jacket and pants on top. The celebration shut down Santa Monica pier on Friday.
Dress #6
The couple ended their wedding weekend with one final bash on Saturday. This was held, again, at the former Barron estate, and as precedented, Paris brought it for her guests in another glam gown. This one again, by Oscar De La Renta, was a sheer floor- length a-line with long sleeves, an interesting V neckline, and literally as star studded as their guest list. The complemented the look with a silver hair piece, stunning updo, glam smokey eye, and her signature decked-out sunglasses. Oh, and her husband, who rocked an all black 3 piece ensemble.

The celebs munched on McDonald’s French fries while they enjoyed reception #2 at the estate proving that they are indeed, just like us normal people… just better dressed… and better looking… etc.
This concludes what I have been able to dig up so far on Paris’ wedding weekend dresses. I have seen sources in which Paris speaks of 10 or 11 dresses. I don’t know if these were exaggerations. I would guess from the amount of digging I’ve done, probably so, but like I previously mentioned I will keep looking for my own curiousness and you wonderful human being’s and will post updates if I can find any!
Now lastly,
The Guests
I’d be amiss to talk about such an epic high fashion event without at least mentioning some of the fashion highlights outside of the bride and groom. So buckle up because we’ll drive through them pretty quickly.
Nicky Hilton
Bride’s younger sister and matron-of-honor Nicky Hilton rocked 3 dresses of not for the weekend’s festivities.

For the Thursday ceremony, matron-of-honor Nicky Hilton wore a custom made gown by Alice and Olivia (which is who designed all of the bridesmaid dresses) Similar to Paris’s dress style, the dress featured a lace high neckline and long sleeves. This dress, however, featured a delicate corded lace fabrication, satin- boned bustier, satin chiffon bias ruffles, and a satin bow with a long train.

Friday Carnival look- an 80’s themed black and neon short body-con dress that she paired with a black studded handbag and bright pink heels.
& at reception #2 on Saturday, Nicky looks incredible in this provactively glamorous metallic print a-line gown with an open bust and side cut outs by Prabal Gurung. Little fun fact: this dress was not custom made, but has actually been seen on the red carpet before by none other than (dare I say celeb look alike) Blake Lively for the premiere of ‘Free Guy’!

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian- fellow American media personality, socialite, model, and businesswoman, former employee, and long time friend attended and played a role in Paris’ wedding. She apparently gave a heartwarming pep talk to Paris right before the wedding.

For the ceremony, Kim wore a surprisingly controversial floor length strapless black gown with a a-line cut, plunging neck line cut out, and minimal train. The dress was a custom made by Balenciaga and she finished the look with a sleek braid hairstyle. I say surprisingly controversial because although I think the gown was perfect for Kim Kardashian and the occasion, black being a great color on her and for a wedding as well as in a style that I think suits her brand being sexy sophisticated very appropriately, she caught some real flack from critics on the choice of the plunging neckline. Well Kim, if you read this, I thought you looked perfect.
Nicole Richie
Long time friend, fellow socialite, and co-star in “The Simple Life,” Nicole Richie made it out to the wedding as well.

The dynamic duo pictured here features Paris in dress #2 of the evening and Nicole Richie looks stunning in this sleeveless black tiered dress with a high neckline and simple updo.
Demi LovatoPop-star, outspoken mental health advocate, and friend Demi Lovato attended the weekend’s festivities as well and also performed “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston.

For the ceremony, Lovato wore a black suit jacket with a loose androgynous cut paired with flats that looked very elegant and fitting for the occasion.

For the neon themed carnival party, Demi went all out with a furry lime green jacket and matching sunglasses ensemble. She paired those with a black furry purse, loose capri black pant, and platform black studded shoes and looked marvelous. The pop-star and everyone else at the carnival looked to be having an amazing time.
The End
So, in the words of the bride… That’s Haute!
The Hilton/ Reum wedding weekend events overall were filled with fashion triumphs, especially those of the bride. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this post all of you lovely human beings. I will see you again very soon. Goodbye!
XOXO,
Amy
